Observed spectra of the NKaKc = 707 ← 616, J = 7 ← 6 (F2 component) rotational transition of the CHD radical produced in dc glow discharge (~20 mA) using CH2D2 as precursor recorded a) without magnetic field applied and b) with a magnetic field of only 15 Gauss applied. Inset c): same transition detected using CH4 and CD4 as precursors, about five times less intense. These spectra were recorded by integrating 36 scans with 0.5 Hz repetition rate and 10 ms time constant of the lock-in amplifier.
