Spectroscopic sequence of σ Orionis cluster members (black dots). Data for mid-M to mid-L objects are taken from the literature (see Zapatero Osorio et al. (2008)). S Ori 70, 73 and the new T candidate are labelled. The average sequence of field M-, L-, and T-type dwarfs is normalized to the late-M types of the cluster and plotted as a green solid line. We use it to “predict” the location of σ Orionis T-type members.
