Luminosity-normalised PNLFs for the bulge of M 31 (triangles) and the halo of M 87 (circles). Open circles and filled circles represent, respectively, the PNLF of the halo of M 87 before and after subtraction of the expected number of Lyα contaminants in each bin. Data are binned into 0.25 mag intervals. M 87 has a higher number of faint PNs per unit bolometric luminosity and its PNLF has a steeper slope towards faint magnitudes than M 31.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
