Vertical lines show the stellar mass limit of each survey. A 108 ℳ⊙ limit is shown also for the SDSS survey, considering the lowest value (Li & White 2009) among the ones used in various studies. Other authors (like Moustakas et al.) adopt a more conservative threshold for their estimates (~109 ℳ⊙).
