Diagram of a potential cloud formation and seed particle hierarchy scenario. We depict a three cloud layer scenario where TiO2[s] provides seed particles for the deepest cloud layers, Cr[s] for the “middle” cloud layer and a chloride species (e.g. KCl[s], NaCl[s], RbCl[s], CsCl[s]) for the colder H2O[s/l] cloud layers.
