Demonstration of the effect of unresolved turbulence in the disk on the δv = 1.12 km s−1 channel map. Only for very strong turbulence (vturb = cs) do the effects become so large that they are easily seen in the maps. This is why it is so challenging to measure the strength of turbulence from the channel maps, as studied by Flaherty et al. (2015).
