Maximum size max (a0) of thedust grains in the wind in analogy to Owen et al. (2011a, their Fig. 2). The brightest color found above the sonic surface indicates a global maximum of max (a0) = 11 μm; the region below the base of the wind (black) is included merely for completeness. The visible correlation between grain size and maximum scale height is further investigated in Fig. 8.
