The blue, green, and orange curves show three models from Coelho (2014) redshifted to z = 2.1878 and magnified by a factor of 20 000. Model temperatures are shown in the legend. Squares show the expected flux in the JWST bands for a star with T ≈ 3500 K and luminosity 105.1 L, similar to Betelgeuse. A star with a similar temperature but being a few times brighter, such as UY Scuti, would require magnification to be less than 10 000.
