Distribution of companions to the star from our sample in the semimajor axis (a) versus mass ratio (q) plane. Green diamonds are companions detected in imaging, magenta asterisks are astrometric binaries, and purple open triangles are spectroscopic and eclipsing binaries. The top panel is for all stars and the bottom panel is for systems with primaries more massive than 0.8 M. In the bottom panel, the gray-scale coverage shows the map of the efficiency of binary retrieval using the combination of all techniques considered in this paper, for systems with primaries that have a mass >0.8 M. The gray-scale goes from 0 to 1 as shown by the bar at the very bottom of the figure.
