Comparison of Ks-band images of NGC 1494 from 2MASS (left), VHS (middle), and KEDFS (right). All panels are shown with the same physical scale and intensity stretch to emphasise faint structures. The KEDFS image, processed with the NASIM pipeline, reveals a markedly more extended outskirts and LSB features that are not detected in the shallower 2MASS and VHS data.
