Spectra taken by JWST towards NIR38 in the molecular cloud Cha I, converted to absorbance scale after fitting the stellar continuum and the silicate contribution. In pale red are the fitted Gaussians by the band integrator included in AICE (in the case of H₂O, only the right half of the fit is Gaussian, the left half is a spline; and for CO we directly integrated the observed band, since the shape is not too Gaussian).
