Accuracy of inferred global galactic parameters α_IMF and log₁₀(N_Ia) as a function of number of observed stars. We compare our SBI results (blue line) to the inferred values using HMC (red line) as done by Philcox & Rybizki (2019) and the ground truth values (dashed black line) for various test cases as described in Sect. 3.2. For the SBI analysis we show 1σ and 2σ contours while HMC results only show 1σ statistical uncertainties as reported in Table 3 of Philcox & Rybizki (2019) (blue/red shaded regions).
