Notes. p-law: power-law size distribution with exponential tail; log-n: log-normal distribution. Parameters are defined in Sect. 3.2. α is the power-law exponent, amin and amax are the minimum and maximum grain sizes, ac is the cutoff size for the exponential tail, at is the transition size, and a0 is the central size for log-normal distributions.
