Visualisation of how new initial conditions are generated by rotating the most massive moonlet counterclockwise around its barycentre by an angle, α, here set to 45°. On the left is the original configuration from the W24 merger, with a vector â0 parallel to the aggregate’s semi-major axis. We performed the rotation for each particle, ending up with a new aggregate with its semi-major axis parallel to the vector â1.
