Photometric uncertainty on the (W1–W2) color as a function of mass at 5 (Left) and 10 Myr (Right), for our sample described in Sect. 3.1. The uncertainties are computed as the quadratic sum of the W1 and W2 magnitude errors, i.e., σW1W2=σW12+σW22${\sigma _{{\rm{W}}1 - {\rm{W}}2}} = \sqrt {\sigma _{{\rm{W}}1}^2 + \sigma _{{\rm{W}}2}^2}$. Sources flagged as potentially blended in WISE images (see Sect. 3.1) are shown in orange.
