Temporal evolution of an HD 80869-like system, initialized with three Jupiter-mass planets. The adopted parameters for the stellar companion are a_B ≃ 250 au, e_B = 0.75 and i_B = 45°, and a mass of M_B = 0.6 M_⊙. From top to bottom we show the semimajor axis, eccentricity, and resonant plane for the system. The pink lines on the right indicate the observed semimajor axis and eccentricity of the planet.
