The satellite distribution in θ_L and φ_r for the Milky Way (Top) and TNG50 501208 (Botton) illustrating the definition of f_Sat,vertical and ξ_Sat,φ. The parameter f_Sat,vertical is defined as the fraction of satellites with θ_L < 45°. We fit the distribution of φ_r with a sine function n = n₁ sin(2φ_r + φ₀) + n₀. The parameter ξ_sat,φ = n₁/n₀ is defined to describe the anisotropy of satellite galaxies distributed in azimuthal angle φ_r.
