Preselection cuts that define each event type.
| Preselection cuts on Hillas image | Requirements | |||||||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Type | Cleaning | Size [p.e.] | # pixels | Local distance [m] | Multiplicity (after preselection) | |||||||
| CT1-4 | CT5 | CT1-4 | CT5 | CT1-4 | CT5 | CT1-4 | CT5 | CT1-4 | CT5 | |||
| A | Tailcuts | Tailcuts | ≥200 | ≥50 | >0 | >0 | ≤0.525 | - | ≥2 | = 1 | ||
| B | Tailcuts | Tailcuts | ≥80 | ≥80 | >0 | >0 | ≤0.525 | ≤0.8 | not Type A, and | ≥2 | ||
| M | Tailcuts | Time-based | ≥80 | ≥250 | >0 | ≥7 | ≤0.525 | ≤0.8 | not Type A, B, and | =0 | =1 | |
Notes. For the tailcut cleaning, we used the standard H.E.S.S. thresholds of 5/10 for CT1–4 and 9/16 with a two-neighbor requirement for CT5. For the time-based cleaning, we used TIME3D_1 for Type M (see Ćelić et al. (2025) for a detailed description of the time-based cleaning parameters).
