Same as the upper panel of Fig. 7, except that the flux has been binned over radial intervals of 1 km in x, representative of the best time resolution currently obtained during Earth-based occultations by Pluto. The Poisson fringes are averaged out and are not visible anymore. The light curve is now undistinguishable from the geometrical optics model displayed in gray in the upper panel of Fig. 6, except that in this example the flux remains finite with a value of about 990 at the center.
