Angular momentum conservation for all six of our simulations: three with gas pressure only and three with the addition of radiation pressure. The first column shows the circular equal mass binary simulations, the middle column shows binaries with e = 0.45 and q = 0.7, and the right column shows equal mass highly eccentric binaries with e = 0.9. The brown and yellow lines show the gravitational and accretion torque contributions, and their sum is shown with the dotted red line for the gas-pressure-only simulations. The green line represents the binary angular momentum as measured directly from the simulation. For simulations that include radiation pressure, the same quantities are plotted with dashed cyan lines (gravitational torque), dashed purple lines (accretion torque), dotted blue lines (sum of gravitational and accretion contribution), and orange lines (binary angular momentum calculated directly from the live evolution).
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
