Notes. s and m stand for singles and multis, respectively, while N and R~Mathematical equation: $\[\widetilde{R}\]$ represent the number and the median radii of the planets in each sample, respectively. Spectral types M0-2 and M3-9 correspond to early- and late-type M dwarfs, respectively. The p-values indicate the significance of the differences between Rs and Rm in each sample, as measured with three tests: the Kolmogorov–Smirnov (K–S), the two-sample Anderson–Darling (A–D), and the Mann-Whitney (M–W) U test. All the reported ±1σ-uncertainties are computed via Monte Carlo simulations (Sect. 3.3). (a)This sub-sample comprises the singles and multis in the sample, after removing the hot Jupiters. (b)This sub-sample contains the giants with R ≥ 4 R⊕, excluding the hot Jupiters.
