Median trends of light-weighted age (upper panels) and light-weighted stellar metallicity (lower panels) as a function of stellar mass (left) or velocity dispersion (right). The trends obtained with the BaStA estimates (this work, squares) are compared with those obtained with parameter estimates from Prospector (Nersesian et al. 2025, circles) and Bagpipes (Kaushal et al. 2024, stars). The galaxies are distinguished into quiescent (magenta) and star-forming (blue) with our default SSFRUVIR threshold. For clarity, the error bars show the 16th − 84th range of the distributions only for BaStA median trends. In this plot, metallicities have been scaled to a common solar scale of Z = 0.02. Comparison is done for golden sample.
