Simulation of the effect of scattering on a sharp faint-end turnover in a Schechter LF. We used the (B22, Bouwens et al. 2022) Schechter parametrisation at z ∼ 8, with a sharper turnover δ: L^* = 10^45.26 erg s⁻¹(M_UV = −20.9), α = −2.2,  δ = 2.0,  L_T = 10^42.98 erg s⁻¹(M_UV = −15.2). We include scatter that correspond to the natural scatter between [O III]+Hβ and M_UV (as seen in Fig. 4) by sampling from a normal distribution with parameters 𝒩(σ = 0.4).
