Transition from a |m| = 2 ringlet stage to a |m| = 1 ringlet stage in the µ = 0.03, R = 5 · 10⁻⁴ (corresponds to 100 m in the case of Chariklo) simulation of Fig. 9. In all other cases the ringlet shape is dominated by the |m| = 1 response once it has formed. Also in this case, the |m| = 1 response eventually replaces the |m| = 2 shape. During this transition at T ≈ 35 000, the torque exerted on the nearly circular ringlet temporarily vanishes (see the flat portion of the mean L_z curve in the upper frame).
