We begin with an initial sample of 3050 LBG candidates from all six FFs (see Sect. 2.2), but refine the sample for the various reasons listed above (see Sect. 2 for details). The final number of candidates studied results from a mixture of all these criteria, ranging from 1569 to 1582, depending on our goals.
