Table 1.
Initial conditions for the simulation of H18 for the main and the secondary progenitor.
| Parameter | Main | Secondary |
|---|---|---|
| M⋆ [M⊙] | 6.63 × 1010 | 0.66 × 1010 |
| log (M⋆/M⊙) | 10.82 | 9.82 |
| hs [kpc] | 2.8 | 2.8 |
| hg [kpc] | 8.4 | 8.4 |
| fgas | 0.5 | 0.8 |
| (12+log(O/H))< 1Re [dex] | 8.706 ± 0.15 | 8.518 ± 0.15 |
| ∇ (log(O/H)) [dex/kpc] | −0.1 ± 0.05 | −0.1 ± 0.05 |
Notes. M⋆ is the stellar mass of each galaxy. hs is the scale length of the stellar discs, hg is the scale length of the gas discs, and fgas is the fraction of gas mass to the total baryonic mass in each progenitor (the baryonic mass is 20% of the total mass). (12+log(O/H))< 1Re are the values from the MZR measured for galaxies at z ≃ 1 (Rodrigues et al. 2008) and for a stellar mass equal to the mass of each progenitor respectively. The uncertainties reported are calculated as the 1 × σ dispersion within the relevant redshift bin. The spread in the oxygen gradient values is derived from Figure 9 of Curti et al. (2020a).
