The 3σ contours of the thin disc (blue), the thick disc (green), and the halo (grey) are constructed from the U, V, and W distributions of Anguiano et al. (2020). U is the velocity component towards the Galactic centre, V in the direction of Galactic rotation, and W perpendicular to the Galactic plane.
