Variations in the isotropic turbulent field strength, B_turb, (Fig. 5, middle panel) and the strength of the (plane-of-sky) anisotropic turbulent field B_an, ⊥ (taken from Fig. 10) at $1\stackrel{\prime }{.}5$ resolution with azimuthal angle in the galaxy plane in the radial ring 8–12 kpc. The uncertainties in B_turb reflect the dispersion of the values in the map of B_turb in each sector. The uncertainties in B_an, ⊥ come from the dispersion of the values in the map of B_ord, ⊥ (Fig. 5, bottom panel) in each sector and the general uncertainty of B_reg, ⊥ as determined in Sect. 4.6.
