Synthetic spectra of the [Fe X] at λ6374.5 and [Fe XIV] λ5302.9 lines from our halo model described in Sect. 4.1. The upper two panels show the noise-free absorption profiles, the lower two panels show the profiles with the minimum S/N required for a 3σ detection, as given in the lower left corners. The spectra are generated using a spectral resolution of R = 45 000 and a sampling of 1.5 pixels per resolution element.
