Time-distance diagrams of the Elsässer variables Z↑ (left) and Z↓ (right) for an Alfvén wave with a frequency of 5 mHz. The amplitudes of the Elsässer variables are expressed in arbitrary units. Time and distance are normalized with respect to the Alfvén crossing time and domain length, respectively.
