Examples of SDSS spectra with S/N > 15 Å⁻¹, which is needed to measure kinematic extraction at the level of precision and accuracy we require in this study. The wavelength range shown is the range for fits involving the SDSS data. We take this range instead of using the entire SDSS spectrum because fits with XSL templates that cross the UVB-VIS dichroic above 5450 Å are unreliable.
