Scattered metallicity distribution within galaxies relative to the median metallicity as described by the MZR (ΔZscat), showing our adopted distribution: an asymmetric Gaussian (as formulated by Disberg & Nelemans 2023) with σ− = 0.13 and σ+ = 0.05. This distribution is, to a certain degree, similar to the results of Pessi et al. (2023a). The median of the distribution is centred at ΔZscat = 0.
