ΔSFR as a function of merger time for mergers binned by local density. The purple circles, blue triangles, and green squares show the μ from the Gaussian fitting of the binned merger times with 0.00 ≤ Σ10 < 0.04, 0.04 ≤ Σ10 < 0.08, and Σ10 ≥ 0.08, respectively. The errors on these points are the standard deviation of the merger times in the merger time bin (x axis) and the error in μ from the Gaussian fitting combined with bootstrapped ΔSFR uncertainty (y axis). Empty markers show the results using re-sampled merger times (see text), and the y axis errors are the standard deviation of ΔSFR from these resamplings. The light shaded region indicates where pre-mergers should lie and the dark shaded region indicates where post-mergers should lie.
