Ablation study of geometric regularization for asteroid Itokawa (25143) and Ryugu (162173). The pseudo-color images represent the normal maps rendered from the 3D Gaussian scene. Without geometric regularization, 3D Gaussian primitives are difficult to fit the asteroid surface.
