UVJ plots for the same galaxies as in Figure 1. Each panel shows the UVJ color gradients in elliptical apertures with a width of 0.04″ up to an aperture of twice the effective radius in the filter F444W. The dashed black lines identify the quiescent region as defined by Muzzin et al. (2013). The white star with black contours shows the UVJ colors of the galaxy as in the DJA catalog, and the magenta (green) squares show the color measured within Re (1 − 2 Re). In the bottom right corner, we report the field and ID of the galaxy, together with its redshift, stellar mass, and global Av. In each panel, we show a metallicity and age grid from the BPASS stellar libraries, together with the theoretical AV vector induced by a dust screen. This figure shows different types of color gradients for the galaxies in the sample.
