Edge-on views of all galactic disks at the final simulation snapshot, shown in units of disk scale length, hd, as in Fig. 1. The dotted vertical lines mark the outermost radial bin (4hd) included in our analysis. The horizontal lines indicate the vertical birth cut, |z0| ≤ 0.3hd, used for all SFH estimates, which ensures that stars are selected as being born in the disk.
