Orbital period, Porb (in hr), as a function of companion mass (in M). AGB stands for a companion that is on the asymptotic giant branch. Left panel: Entire simulated population. Right panel: Only systems with a detected pulsar by the pipeline in the simulation and observed systems. The companion mass reported is the median mass available in the ATNF catalogue for the observed systems. ‘Unknown (obs)’ means the pulsar has a null value in the ATNF catalog concerning its companion, ‘Sim’ stands for simulated, and ‘Obs’ stands for observed. The simulated systems are represented by squares and observed systems by circles. The different colours are for the different companions and are shown in the legend.
