Same as Fig. 5 but with additional data points from the random forest (squares) and COSMOS2020 re-fits (triangles). Due to the conservative nature of random forests, large stellar masses are generally disfavoured at all redshifts. At 1.1 < z ≤ 2.5, this appears to correct for the bias observed from LePHARE alone, but at z > 2.5, this appears to lead to an incompleteness. COSMOS2020 re-fitted using just the DAWN PL bands closely resembles the DAWN PL observed galaxy SMF.
