Each encounter has an average maximum (Var_p) of approximately 2 V at closest approach, which is ∼10−15% of the measured spacecraft floating potential value. Features in the variance from 50 R_S − 55 R_S are likely due to the instrument mode transitioning from out-of-encounter to in-encounter.
