Comparison between the dust trap blocking efficiency found by our full grain size distribution model based on DustPy, ℬ_DustPy, and the simpler two-population algorithm, ℬ_2pop (Birnstiel et al. 2012) here incorporated within chemcomp (Schneider & Bitsch 2021), for identical disc models with fragile grains (upper panel) and resistant grains (lower panel). We see that simpler dust evolution models can overestimate the amount of mass blocked in dust traps by orders of magnitude, hence they may significantly underestimate the flux of outer disc material reaching the inner disc.
