Similar to Figure 8, but here polarisation is calculated for different grain elongations, while keeping maximum grain sizes constant, namely 0.21, 0.28, and 1.25 μm. For near-IR and submm data with AV > 14 mag, even at an axial ratio of 3, the model fails to cover all data points, indicating the need for larger grains, as shown in Figure 8. For optical and near-IR data with AV ≤ 14 mag, the models fit well.
