Table A.2.

Mg II equivalent widths and column densities

Component -47 km/s & -164 km/s -640 km/s
EW(Mg II 2796) (1.77 ± 0.02) Å < 0.54 Å
EW(Mg II 2803) (1.52 ± 0.02) Å < 0.29 Å
EW ratio 1.2 ± 0.1
log(NMg II/cm−2) > 13.8 < 13.1
log(NH I/cm−2)a 20.2 ± 0.1 19.3 ± 0.10
log(NH I / NMg II) < 6.4 > 6.2

Notes. Equivalent width of the Mg II transitions and corresponding column densities for different velocity components. The components at v = −47 km/s and v = −164 km/s are blended and are considered as a single component; the 3-σ lower limit on the Mg II column density is derived from the weaker transition (Mg II 2803), which is more constraining. For the undetected component at −640 km/s, the column density is the average of the values obtained using each of the two transitions.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
