Trimming of survey edges. Partially filled base pixels are discarded from analysis to ensure uniform coverage over the full survey area. Empty base pixels are marked by red crosses. Pixels with an empty pixel as a neighbour, either directly (blue) or diagonally (purple), are interpreted as being on the survey boundary. Both the empty pixels and their neighbours are discarded from further analysis.
